How to Write Answers Like A Topper In UPSC Mains?
Answer writing in UPSC main is very different from all other exams that you have given in the past.
Here in the UPSC mains exam, the motive of you should be to impress the examiner or the person who is checking your answers.
Here i will discuss some tips that you should know to become a topper by writing a good content full answers.
Here are some steps you can follow to write your answers.
Step 1 – Practice
- Use Loose Sheets:- To practice answer writing you will need UPSC loose sheets. Which you can download from here. Using these sheets you can start writing your answers in a better way.
- Time Limit:- You have to write answers in the time limit because as everyone can write high-quality answers if they have ample time. But UPSC only provides only three hours. So you also have to do that.
- Write 3-4 Answers daily:- You can get questions to practice easily from the platforms like Insights of India. For that, you have to read newspapers and editorials.
Step 2 – Evaluate
- After writing answers you need to evaluate it or check it whether you wrote a good answer or not. For that, you can look at how others write the answers.
- See whether you have covered all the points asked in the question or not if not then you have to include them.
Step-3 Make You Own BluePrint.
Having a blueprint means you will write your answers very fast than others in the exam. A blueprint can be easily made by you just have to include below things in your answers.
- Introduction
- Subheading Or main Body.
- Diagrams, facts, Flowcharts etc.
- Conclusion.
Your answer should cover the every part of the question.

For Example:- You have to write both positive and negative points for each answer also conclude the answer on a positive note.
